Driver accused of hit-and-run on cyclist in Noble Park to be charged, reports The Age.

A hit-and-run collision occurred in Noble Park last week, resulting in a 59-year-old cyclist being injured. Robert Clarke, from Pakenham, was cycling on Douglas Street when he was allegedly struck by a car. Police claim that the driver initially stopped to let the cyclist pass before accelerating towards him, mounting the kerb and hitting him. The driver then continued, dragging the twisted metal of the bicycle for another 130 metres. Clarke received grazes and bruises and was taken to hospital for treatment. The police have seized CCTV footage to help identify the driver. A 40-year-old Dandenong woman was interviewed on Monday by Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol members after handing herself in. She is expected to be charged on summons with several offences, including reckless conduct endangering life and failing to stop a vehicle after an accident. Clarke stated that this was the second time he had been injured in a hit-and-run while cycling.
