A man arrested at Sydney International Airport has been charged with the murder of a father allegedly shot dead in front of his young son last month.
The 26-year-old Fairfield East man was apprehended by detectives at the airport on Sunday afternoon and taken to Surry Hills police station.
Police released CCTV footage showing Sabbagh‘s 12-year-old son opening the gate of the gym so his dad could drive in.
The alleged gunman could then be seen jumping out of a Mazda 3 that had been parked next to the gate and firing six shots into Sabbagh’s car.
The man arrested at the airport was marched through the terminal with a covering over his face.
Police will allege he was involved in the planning and coordination of the murder of Sabbagh.
He was refused bail and is set to face Downing Centre Local Court on Monday.
Investigations under Strike Force Pemak are ongoing.
