Police are searching for a man they say hit a cyclist with his car before leaving them with life-threatening injuries on the side of the road in Melbourne’s inner north.
The driver struck a bike rider at about 3:15am while driving a black Volkswagen hatchback along Brunswick Street in Fitzroy North, according to police.
Police say he then parked away from the spot he had struck the cyclist, observed the injured man and then drove away again.
CCTV footage from the early hours of April 3 released by Victoria Police shows a man dressed in dark clothing walking down a footpath.
The bike rider, a 30-year-man, was later taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage relating to the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
