Police Seize $30 Million Worth of Methylamphetamine and Arrest Driver on New South Wales Mid North Coast

A 26-year-old man has been arrested by police after they seized $30 million worth of methylamphetamine on the New South Wales Mid North Coast. Thanh Dat Nguyen was stopped by police while driving an SUV on the Pacific Highway at Nabiac at around 10:30 pm yesterday. Police found 20 kilograms of meth in the car and later searched a Bankstown unit in Sydney where they seized $138,000 in cash, a luxury watch, and drug paraphernalia. The 26-year-old has been charged with two counts of supply large commercial quantity prohibited drug and one count of knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime. He was refused bail at Taree Local Court and is scheduled to face court again on June 21.

This arrest is part of an ongoing investigation by the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad and Queensland Police into a drug syndicate transporting drugs between New South Wales and Queensland. Earlier this month, a 17-year-old boy was also arrested by Queensland Police during a car stop.
