The incident took place at 9.45pm at an address on Hawkins Street and although the victim was treated in hospital, he later died from his wounds.

The 26-year-old was arrested and charged with murder on Saturday and will front Toowoomba Magistrates Court today.
Addressing media this afternoon Detective Inspector Garry Watts gave few details over the alleged murder but said the altercation was a result of an ongoing conflict.
Watts wouldn’t be drawn on the type of chest injury nor whether the duo personally knew one another.
“An extensive examination of the property has been conducted by specialist police,” Watts said.
“We’re still looking at the nature of that altercation but it appears to originate from a neighbourhood dispute.”
At this stage, no other persons are believed to be involved, Watts said.
Hawkins Street has been declared a crime scene while detectives work to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
