Security cameras have captured convicted paedophile Tyrone Corbett running through the streets of Perth’s northern suburbs moments after he allegedly broke into a home last week.
Corbett has been on the run since Friday when CCTV cameras captured the 44-year-old legging it along a Balga street moments after an alleged frightening home invasion.
The vision showed him running across suburban front yards and driveways wearing a black Metallica hoodie.
The woman whose home police believe Corbett broke into told 7NEWS she was worried about her six-year-old daughter’s safety who, luckily, was not home at the time.
“I was trying to push the door back but he just came around and held my wrist very tight and he tried to push me back,” she said.
“If she (her daughter) was home, maybe he could grab her you know.”
Detectives from the Serious Offender Management Squad are searching for Corbett after he was last seen in East Victoria Park on Monday.
Police said he removed his electronic tracking bracelet on Friday, which has been found.
Corbett was only released from prison in February and is classified as a “recidivist offender”.
Det. Act. Insp. John Mottolini said a lot of resources were being put into catching Corbett.
“We will not stop until he is located and we’ve got significant resources deployed to locate him, it’s only a matter of time until he’s located,” he said.
“We still believe he’s in the Perth metropolitan area.
“We are closing in on his location. We urge him to hand himself into the nearest police station.”
If sighted, members of the public should not approach Corbett but call police immediately on 131 444.
